The issues below are some of the current challenges facing our city. As your City Council member, I want to work as an advocate for you. The many issues we deal with as a community are as diverse as our residents. Please contact me here if you have a need or idea you want to discuss.
In Boise, I believe our amazing quality of life begins with safety. As our city continues to grow, our first responders are challenged even more. Our citizens need to first be protected in order to enjoy all that Boise has to offer. We must strengthen and prioritize our police department, fire department, paramedics, and all of our dedicated public safety officers.
Boise is consistently ranked as a thriving place for businesses. As our city grows, numerous organizations are are choosing to build their businesses in the City of Trees. We need to support these local organizations and advocate for innovation and creativity. By increasing opportunities for startups and small businesses we our investing in our community's future.
One of the greatest characteristics Boise offers citizens is accessibility. We need to plan for the future in order to maximize transportation efficiency while increasing livability in a way that's practical. As a city, we have to find the balance necessary to make sure all citizens feel Boise is an easily accessible community.
While Boise is a thriving city for so many residents, other citizens are struggling. As seen in recent years, homelessness poses some real challenges for our city, and for some of our most vulnerable citizens. We need to address the many challenges that face our homeless population and work to create solutions that are realistic. "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
One of the greatest things about our city is our access to local, trails, and water. By promoting environmentally friendly planning decisions and advocating for green space in our community, we can invest in some of Boise's greatest assets.
